Gardening Grant Brainstorming
Using grant money from 2023 ($2,600)
Looking for teacher input, lesson plan ideas and opportunities for community/parent involvement.
Kinder - pumpkin unit, flowers in the spring and bugs (butterflies) - life cycles of plants and bugs
Used as a life skill unit (veggies for cooking) and/or life skills for older grades

Gardening Konstella “chat” to ensure everyone involved knows what is happening (add 1 person from each team - science lead). Send reps to Principal Hosack by Friday. (include Ms Considine in group)
Principal Update
Map Update
- 83% of students are on or above grade level. 17% of students are below or “not meeting.” 6% in need of service or intervention
- Math - increased in growth by 2% and decreased did not meet by 2%
- Reading - 83% of students are on or above grade level. 1% less student overall that did not meet growth target. Less “mastery” but more in “above grade level”
Registration updates
- PK early bird ends on March 7th. It is tuition-based and is a true lottery.
- Priority registration has ended (transfers)
- General registration opens April 1st for all including tuition and eligible PK
Staff Updates
- 47 staff have filled out staff intent form (of 65ish staff). Only 1 request for transfer to secondary.
Booster Bolt Bulldog Fun Run
- Kick-off March 10th. Run is March 28th
- Purpose
- Staff appreciation
- Professional development
- Instructional materials
- Building needs
- Instructional coach (to support teachers)
- Changes this year
- Led and organized by Brentwood staff
- Keep a larger % or funds raised (10% more stays in house)
- Group Prizes
- Run will be at Brentwood Park (bubble run, grade-level themes)
Budget
- Budgets are delayed (property values are down so funds are delayed)

Thursday PTA membership meeting - preparing for Rally Day (Feb 24th 11:00 to 12:30). Full schedule on Konstella (RSVP Rally Day)
