Principal's Message

Hello Brentwood Bulldog Families & Community!

It is my honor to serve as the very PROUD principal of Brentwood Elementary School and to be a part of this extraordinary school community. I assure you that I share in our school community’s commitment to caring for our students every day while providing them with a learning environment that honors the whole child and maintains a strong instructional core.

I have 13 years of teaching experience and 6 years of administrative experience for a total of 19 years in education! Of those 19 years, 10 have been in Austin ISD. In addition to my role as an educator, I am a wife and mom to three boys, all of whom keep me busy and on my toes! My oldest son is in 7th grade, my middle son is in 5th grade, and our youngest is in 3rd grade. AISD is their school home, as our family strongly believes in the core values of our district.

Since graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2006, I have served and educated in communities in both under-resourced areas as well as resource-rich communities in both Arizona and Texas. My roles have included teaching 1st grade, 2nd grade, Kindergarten, and Special Education in 1st-5th grades. In 2017, I graduated from Texas A&M with my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and then served as an Assistant Principal at Oak Hill Elementary in Austin ISD.

Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, my position as an elementary principal is where I have felt most fulfilled in my life’s work. Serving as Brentwood’s principal provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers while also connecting with students throughout the day. It is my firm belief that all of us- students, parents, and teachers, are lifelong learners and that we learn best while supporting one another. The partnership between home and school helps build student efficacy and confidence as they learn to become critical thinkers and productive members of our society.

From the moment I started at Brentwood, I knew that I had landed in a wonderfully special place. Our community is one that values diversity, acceptance, kindness, and collaboration. This is seen everyday as our staff and students excitedly show up for school and how our campus models social emotional strategies through our campus Life Skills. Our new, modernized building only exemplifies how Brentwood is truly the best place to be: NEW HOME, SAME HEART.

In closing, please know that my door is always open. I welcome your conversation and input throughout this year as I am fully dedicated to our community. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to continuing to serve, honor, and build upon the strengths at Brentwood Elementary. BRENTWOOD IS ALL OF US!

 With Immense Gratitude,

Jessica Saenz-Hosack
