Join us immediately following Back-to-School Night for our first PTA community meeting of the year. With questions about the possibility of state intervention in Austin ISD, we’ve invited Crestview neighbor Dan Dawer, a PhD candidate at UT, who is researching the impact of TEA takeovers on local school districts. As Houston ISD enters year three of its state takeover, Dan will help us understand what happened in Houston, including the day-to-day changes for teachers and students. 

Our PTA Advocacy Chair, Erin, will then share more about local efforts to advocate for Austin ISD to remain under local control, including ways families who are interested can learn more and get involved.

We'd love for you to join the PTA (it is only $15 and you don't have to do anything...unless you want to📋) but membership is not required for attendance. All are welcome!
