Hello Brentwood Bulldogs!
It is an honor to have recently become the very PROUD principal of Brentwood Elementary School and to join this extraordinary school community. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for our students each and every day while providing them with a learning environment that honors the whole child and maintains a strong instructional core.
I enter into the role of Principal with 13 years of teaching experience and 4 years of administrative experience. In addition to my role as an educator, I am a wife and mom to three boys, all of who keep me busy and on my toes! My oldest son will start middle school next year, my middle son will be in 4th grade, and our youngest will be in 3rd grade. I look forward to bringing my family to community events and functions and introducing them to our amazing community.
Since graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2006, I have served and educated in communities in both under-resourced areas as well as resource-rich communities in both Arizona and Texas. My roles have included teaching 1st grade, 2nd grade, Kindergarten, and Special Education in 1st-5th grades. In 2017, I graduated from Texas A&M with my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and served as an Assistant Principal at Oak Hill Elementary in Austin ISD. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, my position as an elementary principal is where I have felt most fulfilled in my life’s work. Serving as your principal provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers while also connecting with students throughout the day. It is my firm belief that all of us- students, parents, and teachers, are lifelong learners and that we learn best while supporting one another. The partnership between home and school helps build student efficacy and confidence as they learn to become critical thinkers and productive members of our community.
I want to say that I thank each and every one of you for the warm welcome you have provided me. Being in a swing space and campus leadership changing mid-year is never easy. I appreciate all the feedback, kind words, gestures, and warmth that I receive from this community each and every day. From the moment I started at Brentwood, I knew that I had landed in a wonderfully special place.
In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation and input throughout this year as I am fully dedicated to our community. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to continuing to serve, honor, and build upon the strengths at Brentwood Elementary.
With Immense Gratitude,
Brentwood Elementary School
